The first day she was home, she was a little shy. She liked to cuddle and be petted, but also liked to hide. At one point, she had disappeared. We looked everywhere! In every closet, drawer, room, under the couch, everywhere we could possibly think of. She finally meowed, and we found her. In the middle of the giant pile of blankets we keep behind the couch. Ugh. It was so adorable I forgot to be upset.
After a few days, I noticed her little chin was pretty red, and was actually bleeding a little bit. Yeah. Zelda was allergic to the cute plastic bowls I had bought. Of course, myself being the queen of sensitive skin, got a cat with skin problems as well. I went out and got her metal bowls, and she is almost completely fine now. Well...her chine anyway.
We figured out pretty quickly that Zelda LOVES the laser pointer. A little too much, actually. She does this adorable thing where she like sprawls her legs out, and crazy crawls after the red dot. Almost exactly like this. Well...after being in the shelter and not moving around or playing much, doing this on our carpet actually almost tore off her little wrist pad. BLOOD EVERYWHERE. And I do mean everywhere. On our bed, the carpet, my clothes, everything. She was bleeding from both feet, but it did not seem to bother her at all. Shawn and I had to hold her down and wrap up her little feet. She was such a trooper, and didn't even wiggle. Taking the bandages off...well...she hated that. A lot. But, her feet are healed up now, and we try not to let her get too crazy with the laser.
Two nights ago, my roommates and I were all hanging out in the living room. Our couch sits in front of the stairs to the loft. Zelda had been being a crazy cat, running around and playing with her toys and stuff. Suddenly, out of nowhere, she runs UPSIDE DOWN up the stairs. Like, on the bottom of the stairs. Oh my god, we were laughing so hard I was pretty much crying. It was by far the funniest thing she has done.
She is settled in nicely. She does wake me up pretty early in the morning, but I don't really care. She's freaking adorable and we love her.
